1. The Art Institute of California Technology Student Association Competition

First place in the competition for high school student is $5,000 to the Art Institute program of their choice.

Two scholarships available for prospective students to the school totaling $15,000. The college also offers online classes for remote students.

3. Web Warrior

One of the more popular scholarships available as it is offered to anyone in the nation regardless of their chosen school. A $1,000 scholarship is awarded to the winner of a submitted essay.

4. ESA Foundation Computer and Video Game Scholarship

30 Scholarships of $3,000 each awarded to high school students pursuing degrees leading to careers in computer and video game arts. Applicants must be women or minority students with at least a 2.75 GPA.

5. Wayne Alexander Memorial Scholarship

One award of $2,000 for applicants that have interest in the document management and graphic communications industry. The scholarship is for current full time students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 with preference being given to students attending the Universality of Central Florida.

6. Joel Cartun Scholarship

Similar to the Wayne Alexander Scholarship, this one award of $1,000 for full time college students pursuing a degree in graphic communications, web design, electronic publishing or content management. Minimum 3.0 GPA is required and applicants can be international as well as domestic.

7. Hoods Memorial Scholarship

One time grant of $2,000 to a current student with an academic focus of graphic communication or web design with an emphasis given to those with pursuits in marketing and public relations fields.

8. Microsoft Imagine Cup

Microsoft sponsored worldwide technology competition with three areas of focus: Software Design, Game Design-Windows, and Game Design-Phone. Top team prize is $50,000 for the winner in each category. Open only to current college students with technology design aptitudes.

Up to 300 awards for individual students interested in graphic communication fields. Open to current high school or full time college students, applicants are judged on the basis of their academic records and recommendations from faculty. The awards are open to any area of study.

A $6,000 award to students in religious journalism that can also come from electronic and broadcast media design fields. Applicant must be affiliated with the United Methodist church to be considered.

Ten awards of up to $3,000 each for students majoring in any visual art discipline. Minimum GPA is 2.5 and applicants must complete an online application and submit previous design examples.

Awards available to Orange County CA high school students who have lived in the area for at least 6 years. Eligibility based on financial need. Applicants can major in any art related field.

Awards to minority and financially challenged students look to pursue a degree in graphic design or interactive design. Multiple awards available ranging from $2,000-$5,000 depending on merit of design example entries.

15. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Graduate Arts Award

Up to $50,000 per year awarded to college seniors with demonstrated financial need to pursue a graduate or professional degree in the visual arts, including graphic and web design. Applicants must be nominated by a faculty representative.

National competition for multiple disciplines including graphic communication. Multiple contestant levels culminating at the national championships. Awards for college tuition between $2,500 and $20,000 are available for eligible participants.

Scholarships designed for the journalism students with a technology background including digital media and design. 6 awards of $20,000 each are given out each year. Minimum GPA for prospective applicants is 3.0.

Multiple awards for prospective students with approved applications to attend the school. Scholarships vary from $1,000 for outstanding submitted work examples to $8,000 for first year Presidential awards.

Awarded to students interested in pursuing education in the interactive entertainment field. Two $2,500 scholarships are available each year. Minimum GPA of 3.3 is required for prospective applicants.

24. Hungry Academy Web Development Program

Not a traditional scholarship, the Hungry Academy is actually a job training and placement company that teaches web design and development, then places you with a partner company for employment. Attendees receive a salary while at school and job placement services upon graduation.

25. General Assembly Web Development Scholarship

In partnership with Rails Bridge Boston, four $3,000 scholarships are available to prospective applicants of the web development twelve week program. The scholarship opportunities open and close in line with the upcoming class schedule.
